Celebrating An Amazon

Goldfish, according to the saying has no hiding place. History has a way of throwing up persons to change the society at any given time, while the society equally has a way of recognising such people. Real honour is always bestowed on those who have impacted positively on the lives of others through their effort as individual or leader in a group. No matter the angle you look at it, Hajia, Dr. Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu, Honourable Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), aptly falls into this enviable category. Her credentials academically, politically and service to humanity speaks volume of her.

A grassroots mobilizer, voice of the voiceless and champion of Women for political participation, Hajia Ramatu Aliyu was the Women Leader of the defunct All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP), the position she also retained in All Progressives Congress Party (APC) prior to her appointment as the Minister of State, FCT.

Long before her sojourn into politics, as a humanist with milk of human kindness flowing in her vein, she established a Non-Governmental Organization, NGO, christened the Global Women and Youth Empowerment Strategy, GLOWYES, which she used in empowering the rural women and youth in all facets of life. As the Minister of State, FCT, she is working tirelessly hard with the Honourable Minister, Muhammad Musa Bello towards actualizing their mandate.

In recognition of all her remarkable contributions as an individual to the development of her community and service to humanity, as well as her achievements as the honourable minister of state for the Federal Capital Territory, she was recently honoured with a chieftaincy title of Onyize (Mother of Wealth) of Ebiraland by His Royal Majesty, Alhaji (Dr.) Ado Ibrahim, the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland at his palace in Okene, Kogi State. The event which took place on June 12, 2021 was also a memorable day for her, being her 51st birthday.
